E-invoicing for tradesmen, ready for 2028

From 2028, businesses in Latvia will have to issue invoices to other businesses as e-invoices. Kvedo builds the XML file and shows what data is still missing.

What to know about e-invoices

What an e-invoice is, and how it differs from a PDF

An e-invoice is a file accounting software reads by itself, with nothing retyped. The PDF stays for the client, the XML file is for the computer.

XML invoices to the European standard

Kvedo builds the e-invoice to the European standard EN 16931 and checks it before building it. If the line amounts do not match the total, no file is created and you see what to fix.

The readiness check: what is missing

Kvedo goes through your company details, your clients and your materials and says in plain words what to sort out: no VAT number, no IBAN, a material with no unit code. Every item has a button that takes you where to fix it.

Reverse charge VAT and the buyer reference in the e-invoice

For construction services, switch on reverse charge VAT, and the e-invoice states it correctly. Save a buyer reference, a contract number for instance, on the client once, and it goes on every invoice.

The invoice

You invoice as before, and for the client nothing changes.

The XML file

From that same invoice, build the e-invoice XML file, which the accountant sees too.
